Anyone who has a rocket to get to Mars will go on it,
What is wrong with thinking about how to get to Mars when you don't have one?
It has been a long time since contemporary art has been described as a place to search for something new, but the truth is that what is new is only new to the viewer, not to the creator who is creating it with the specific goal of “creating something new.
There are certainly some people in the world who feel the significance of creating something new and are eager to do so, but it is obvious from a fixed point of observation that what is created by such people is nothing more than representational art that has no sense of reality, only new methods and techniques.
The emergence of a new type of artist means that the artist himself is a new type, It is not possible to maintain continuity by only trying to be eccentric in technique. In short, it does not matter whether an artist is new or old, but how an artist's reality matches the reality of the general public determines the value of the artist.
And that reality is stored in the layers of experience within the individual (both the creator and the viewer), and there are all kinds of realities at all levels. Reality for those who love painting, reality for those who are interested in food, reality about health, reality about money, reality about love, etc.,.
An artist, in my opinion, is a person whose entire attention is focused on the “most important thing” within him or her, and who is able to connect all events to that thing and keep concentrating on it, and the act of creating something (production) is an act, an event, or a gesture that is the result of that. (I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a byproduct.)
So, you, who are seriously planning to “create something new and leave your name in the world,” are an Iventer-like person! You should stop your barren, reckless, and futile efforts and look directly at your own feet first to see how special you are. At least you have more than enough specialness in you.
